Morocco boasts a rich history that dates back to ancient times. It was once home to the Berber Kingdom of Mauretania, later becoming part of the Roman Empire. Throughout the centuries, various dynasties, including the Almoravids, Almohads, and Saadis, have shaped Morocco's cultural and architectural heritage. In 1912, Morocco became a French and Spanish protectorate until gaining independence in 1956.
