Morocco is a country located in North Africa, bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. It shares land borders with Algeria to the east and southeast. The country's diverse geography includes coastal plains, mountain ranges like the Atlas and Rif, and the vast Sahara Desert.
Morocco boasts a rich history that dates back to ancient times. It was once home to the Berber Kingdom of Mauretania, later becoming part of the Roman Empire. The Islamic conquest in the 7th century brought significant cultural and religious changes. Throughout the centuries, various dynasties, including the Almoravids, Almohads, and Saadis, have shaped Morocco's cultural and architectural heritage. In 1912, Morocco became a French and Spanish protectorate until gaining independence in 1956.
