Israeli government authorizes IDF reserve call-up of up to 350,000 troops

The Israeli government has authorized the IDF to reserve call-up of up to 350,000 troops, N12 News reports; if needed, army can mobilize these forces until August 31.

Ynet, a famous Hebrew newspaper in Israel wrote “Move signals readiness for large conflict vs Hezbollah” on its website.

The Lebanese militant group started firing missiles and drones at IDF bases and Israeli settlements in Northern occupied Palestine since October the 7th with in the dozens of Israeli troops killed and in the hundreds Hezbollah millitants killed by the IDF.

In Israel, the impact included 300,000 people fleeing their homes to escape Hezbollah rockets and some 2,000 homes destroyed, Reuters reports. More than 4400 indivual attacks against were done Israel since October the 7th, the militant group says.

Hezbollah ignited fires

Hezbollah rockets have sparked days of bushfires in northern Israel, with swathes of forest reserve destroyed, damaged homes and 11 people hospitalised for smoke inhalation.

Politicians call for escalation

Many Israeli politicians including Finance minister Smotrich and Minister of national security Ben-Gvir, called upon the government to "push back" Hezbollah away from the Lebanon-Israel border towards deep inside the UN-mandayed buffer zone south of the Litani River with a ground invasion.
